This is a project that I did just as I was leaving London for NY in 2005, for a couple who were just returning to London from NY. The job came with quite a lot of furniture and accessories, which always makes it easier, starting out from scratch with absolutely nothing is not only a daunting prospect but it never leads to a particularly well lived in looking house.
The house is a classic London townhouse with beautiful proportions. In the sitting room we decided to use Vitsoe on either side of the fireplace, it was a great foil for the traditional architecture of the room. I love the clean lines in here and the way there is not too much very upholstered pieces of furniture. The cream walls, ormolu lamps and bergere chair with its white upholstery and gilded wood frame is just so clean and bright.
